Npower’s Boiler Servicing Scheme Could Earn You Money
Npower has launched a boiler servicing scheme similar to one currently being run by British Gas, reports The Guardian. The difference between the two schemes which cost almost the same amount is that the Npower scheme offers a cashback incentive.
The addition of the cashback incentive means that customers could save around £63 compared with the British Gas scheme. The hometeam50 deal will costs the same amount no matter where you live while the British Gas deal costs different amounts depending on location. It includes a yearly boiler service, safety check and unlimited call outs. But if there are no call outs then half the premiums will be refunded.
British Gas customers who have made a claim on the British Gas HomeCare policy have seen their premiums increase dramatically while Npower has said it will not increase premiums in the same way as British Gas’s insurance policy does. A spokeswoman for Npower said the policy was a care plan rather than an insurance policy like the British Gas scheme and added that premiums wouldn’t go up if a claim was made. If a claim was made it would just mean you won’t get the cashback incentive at the end of the 12 months.
