Police escorted Greenpeace activists off an oil sands site to the north of Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada yesterday, reports market wire.com. The site is owned by Suncor Energy and their chief operating officer said events had been resolved in a peaceful and safe way.
Suncor Energy has worked with different organisations including researchers, and environmental advocates in order to make improvements within the company and is now one of Canada’s leaders in reducing greenhouse gas emissions intensity.
Suncor Energy is also a leading investor in Canada’s renewable energy sector. It has four wind farms and a biofuels plant.
