G-Wiz – GM Is Going Electric
The struggling American car firm, General Motors (GM), could be about to go into partnership with the Indian business which is top of the world in budget electric cars, reports timesonline.co.uk.
GM is in talks with Reva which builds the G-Wiz electric car – the best selling electric car in the UK. GM is trying to change its image from a company producing petrol guzzling SUV’s to one producing environmentally friendly vehicles. Only last month, GM revealed its new Chevrolet Volt petrol-hybrid which it says can do 276 miles per gallon.
However, the GM chief executive admitted that one of the biggest problems for electric cars was what to do if you cannot find a source of electricity and recharge? This is still a fundamental problem for the development of electric cars. By teaming up with the Indian company, GM hope to solve this problem. The G-Wiz contains certain features to ensure that drivers are not stranded, even though its battery only has a range of 48 miles.
