BT has today announced that ELX Futures – a new fully electronic futures exchange – has connected to the BT service known as the BT Radianz Shared Market Infrastructure and will provide participants the ability to connect to its trade matching engines. ELX Futures joins more than 60 other exchanges, ECNs (Electronic Communications Networks) and MTFs (Multilateral Trading Facilities) which are already connected to BT’s dedicated financial services network.
ELX Futures is owned by leading global financial institutions and began live trading in July 2009. Initially, the exchange began trading U.S. Treasury futures contracts on two-year notes, five-year notes, 10-year notes and 30-year bonds, along with calendar spreads, and now ELX Futures is also planning to move into other major asset classes.
BT’s award winning shared market infrastructure will allow ELX Futures to leverage the expansive global community across the network while capitalising on low-latency connectivity with its members.
