Appointment with Barclays

Barclays Commercial Bank has strengthened its Manchester team with the appointment of Richard Faulkner as their new relationship director for the telecoms, media and technology (TMT) sectors across the North – Richard will bring with him a wealth of experience within the finance sector, joining Barclays from Lloyds Banking Group where he was an area director and previously a business development director for Bank of Scotland.

Regarding his new role, Mr. Faulkner commented that the region posses a rich variety of opportunities within the digital and creative industries especially since Manchester boasts the largest media hub outside of London. He is therefore relishing the challenge to drive forward the larger business profile of Barclays in these thriving sectors.

Mr. Faulkner stated:

“The thing that impresses me most about Barclays is that the customer comes first and that is at the heart of everything the Bank does”

Michael Hartig, commercial director at Barclays Commercial Bank and head of the Manchester team followed up the new appointment by saying that together with the banks recent announcement to move to Spinningfields later this year, confidence has been reinforced for business opportunities within the area along with the banks desire to support our customers with a specialist industry sector approach.
